Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need at my house/business for my massage?

Find a space in your house where you feel comfortable where Jessie can set up her table and have space for her body to maneuver around it. The table is 84.5” long and 28” wide with a support rating of 400 lbs.

What should I wear?

Disrobe to whatever level you are comfortable with, you will be covered with a sheet. This is your experience. Less clothing can be helpful in accessing trouble spots like the glutes but you can wear underwear or clothes as you wish, just make sure that they’re comfortable and ok with getting a little massage oil on them.

How do I pay?

You can use Venmo, CashApp, this website, or cash.

What to expect?

Please be clean for your massage. There will be a 5-10 minute intake conversation to determine how you’re feeling, what you want, and goals for the massage. You may want to use the bathroom or drink some water and then you will be on the table for your allotted amount of time.

Cancellation/Lateness

Life happens but to maintain fairness there are consequences. Cancellations can be made up to 24 hours before an appointment, no charge but after that you will be charged a $30 cancellation fee. If you are more than 10 minutes late for an appointment, it will be cancelled. If you are late, it is at the therapists discretion to give you the full time of your massage or deduct the time that you were late. Please just communicate.

Illness/Injury

If you are experiencing any cold/flu/covid symptoms, have been diagnosed with cold/flu/covid in the last month, or been exposed to anyone that has, please re-schedule your appointment. Please be transparent with your health. The information is fully confidential and this is a non-judgmental space but for your health and potentially the health of others, the therapist relies on your honesty.

A message therapist is not a medical doctor or chiropractor and can only act within their scope of practice. If you have any recent or ongoing injuries, please make sure that you have the consent of your doctor before receiving massage. Please include on your intake form so the therapist knows if they can correctly treat you or refer you to someone that can.

Consent

Massage can feel vulnerable, informed consent is crucial at Bird Moon Massage. The therapist will explain things to you and obtain your consent throughout the massage. It is your right to change your mind at any time and the therapist will respect that. You know your own body and boundaries and the therapist will guide your healing based on your needs and your knowledge. Massage is your experience and your autonomy will be honored.

Inclusivity

Bird Moon Massage is for ALL bodies. It welcomes trans/nb/gnc, fat, BIPOC, disabled ANY body. If you need any special accommodations or have any questions, concerns, or specific directions related to massage please send an email.
